Do I have to stay on the channel while it records?

No. You can watch other channels while it records, but the app must stay open and your plan needs a spare connection for the recording.

The recording is its own stream, separate from what you are watching, so you can change channel, browse films or open Multi screen. Two things stop it: closing the app (pressing Home, opening another app, or the TV going to sleep), and running out of connections. On a two-connection plan you can watch one channel and record another.

If the app closes, the recording keeps what it captured up to that moment. A recording scheduled for a time when the app was closed is marked as missed.
